What is the glossary for, and when should I use it?
A glossary is a list of source-and-target term pairs. When you turn it on, every occurrence of a source term is translated to exactly the target wording you specified, overriding the AI's default. Use it for brand names, product names, legal terms of art, and medical vocabulary — anything that must stay consistent and on-message across the whole document.
What format should the glossary CSV be in?
Plain-text CSV, two columns: source term, then target term, one pair per line. An optional header row starting with 'source' is ignored. Up to 200 entries. You can upload a file or paste the pairs directly into the Advanced panel.
Can I translate a password-protected document?
Yes. Drop it in like any other file. If the document is encrypted, we detect it, return a 'needs_password' signal, and the page prompts you for the document-open password. The password is sent over TLS, never stored, and never logged. Cancel the prompt and nothing is translated.
Which input and output formats are supported?
Input: .docx, .doc, .docm, .dot, .dotx, .dotm, .rtf, .odt, .ott, .txt, .html, .htm, .mhtml, and .xml. Output: DOCX (default), DOC, RTF, ODT, PDF, HTML, and TXT. Translating an English contract and exporting straight to PDF for counsel is one step, not two.
What happens if the AI hiccups partway through a long document?
The document is translated in independent batches, so a single failed batch only affects that group of paragraphs — and those keep their original text rather than coming back blank. You always get a usable file. The result card shows how many paragraphs were translated; if some were skipped, just run it again.
Will the translation match the tone of my document?
Yes. The translation engine is instructed to preserve register — a formal contract is translated formally, a casual memo casually. Numbers, dates, currency symbols, URLs, email addresses, and brand names are carried over verbatim rather than translated.
Is there a file size or page limit?
One file at a time, up to 100 MB. That covers long contracts, full manuals, and book-length manuscripts. Larger documents simply take longer because each paragraph is translated by a premium AI model.
